WORRIED by the protracted power tussle, alleged growing corruption at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and abandoned projects by the interventionist agency, a contractors'group in the oil and gas region, has appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan, to urgently carry out ''a drastic surgical operation'' at the commmission.

The contractors have also called on the president to order the NDDC not to leave any project uncompleted. According to them, ''we want oil-bearing communities to be rid of abandoned projects which have become a source of worry to many at the moment''.
