Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has awarded about 70 mega projects worth over N250 billion in the past two years despite its internal wrangling.

The essence of the projects, the commission explained, was to boost regional development and generate employment opportunities for the people of the Niger Delta region.

Speaking at the 44th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha, said the projects, ranging from roads, bridge construction, shore protection and hospitals, were part of the commission’s strategy to build both the region and its people.

Ugwoha disclosed that over 1,000 minor infrastructural projects targeted at addressing various developmental challenges had been undertaken and were at various stages of completion.
