Okonjo-Iweala , Alison-Madueke, Mohammed , 37 Others Make Ministerial List

Note: An earlier proposal to reduce the number of ministerial appointments for reasons of efficiency was not accepted. The inclusion of Okonjo-Iweala as expected "super" finance minister and head of the national economic team will earn the government trust and good will among foreign lenders and donors.  In contrast, the choice of Alison-Madueke, presumably as oil minister, is controversial.  It is opposed by anti-corruption campaigners and by many in the oil industry.  That she hails from the President's Bayelsa State is insufficient to explain her selection ... assuming it is final. Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is the South-east zonal nominee in the new cabinet to be constituted by President Goodluck Jonathan.
In what can be described as a “semi-final” list awaiting final journey to the Senate on Monday, the final list drafted by the president’s selection committee contains 40 names, with only one more nominee expected to represent the South-south zone.

Except there are last-minute changes, this is the list the president will forward to the senate for screening.
