ICPC: N26m spent to monitor N174m contract . Nine other ministries involved
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) verifying execution of 2009 capital projects by Federal Government agencies and ministries has uncovered multibillion naira fraud allegedly perpetrated by government officials running the agencies. The anti-graft agency, in a preliminary report, indicted 11 Federal Government ministries and parastatals including the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Power Holding Corporation of Nigeria (PHCN), Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), the Energy Commission, and Federal Medical Centres at Owo, Asaba and Ebutte Metta. Others include the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Petroleum equalization Funds and the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
