Group laments oil firms’ operation

A group, Niger Delta Indigenous Movement for Radical Change, has accused the major oil companies of circumventing the local content policy of the Federal Government in the award of contracts to companies.

According to the group,  since President Goodluck Jonathan signed the Local Content Act, more than 200 major contracts worth well over $40 billions had been awarded to Saipem, Daewoo, Acergy, OpI and other oil majors, thus making rubbish the local content policy.
