The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State , on Thursday, alleged that the state government has concluded plans to spend N3 billion to celebrate the three years in office of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
In a statement signed by its Director of Publicity, Mr Okharedia Ihimekpen, and made available to journalists in Benin City , the PDP described the action as illegal, since it was not appropriated for in the 2011 budget, saying that the use of such amount to prosecute a “mundane and self serving interest” would further deplete the state’s treasury.
