As the people of the Niger Delta await the constitution of a new board for Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, a Niger Delta activist, Mr. Frank Akiefa, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to appoint persons with good track record and are committed to the development of the long-neglected region.

Akiefa, who spoke in Warri, Delta State, said the call become necessary following intense lobbying for appointment into the board of the commission.

He said some past NDDC board members failed to live up to expectation which led to the dissolution of the board.

He noted that a sound NDDC board was strategic to the proper management of human and material resources which would translate to the development of the region.
