Kidnappers kill Benin musician

BARELY one week after a Benin-based industrialist, Tes Sorae, was kidnapped and his two police orderlies, his driver and wife killed, a popular musician, Omoregbe Okpanyan, popularly called Bayo Ade, was on Sunday morning kidnapped and his dead body found around 2.00 a.m. yesterday in the booth of his SUV van along Ikpoba Slope, after a ransom of N500,000 was paid to the abductors by his family.

Meanwhile, the Provost, College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi, Prof. Julius Obahuyujie, was also kidnapped on Saturday at Ewohinmi, Esan South-East Local Council on his way to a wedding ceremony.
This development yesterday led to mass protest by students in the state led by the National Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ehimemenn Moremo. They paralysed commercial activities in major streets of the state capital.
