The United States Special Envoy and Co-ordinator for International Energy Affairs, Ambassador Carlos Pascual, yesterday urged Nigeria
He spoke at the Second Energy and Investment Working Group meeting in Abuja
He said the American government has given a grant to the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission to develop a framework for investment incentives to independent power producers utilising renewable energy resources.
Pascual added that the partnership would focus on five critical areas, including energy reforms, long-term investment in the petroleum sector, the eradication of gas flaring, renewable energy and improved transparency in the nation’s energy industry.
