PDP moves to amend constitution

2 August 2011

ABUJA—THE Peoples  Democratic Party, PDP is moving to amend its constitution to adopt the direct form of primary elections in line with President Goodluck Jonathan’s equally controversial vision of curbing election tension through the adoption of a single term for the President and Governors.

The proposed amendment of the PDP constitution to introduce the United States style of direct primaries for the selection of party candidates aims to eliminate bribery and other forms of corruption presently associated with the indirect primaries now used by the party.
