Good Governance Laws: Stakeholders Task N-Delta Govts On Enforcement

The participants at the review of strengthening Oil Revenue Management in Niger-Delta project have called on the Niger Delta State Government to enforce all good governance laws existing in their states to demonstrate their preparedness for probity and accountability, which are hall marks for good governance needed to bring about sustainable development of the region.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting which took place on Tuesday August 16, 2011 to review the implementation of the three-year project expected to end December 2011 being implemented by the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) drawn from Civil Society, Media, Academia and Government supported by the Norwegian government, EED Germany and the Swiss government, the eighteen participants welcomed the Steve Oronsaye panel of enquiry in Niger Delta Development Commission set up by the presidency and urged panel to dig deep into the root of the challenges confronting the interventionist agency crisis and tackle them headlong.
