SAN FRANCISCO, July 13, (THEWILL) – The National Security Adviser (NSA), General Owoye Azazi (rtd), whose office is coordinating Nigeria’s response to the terrorist threat posed by the radical Islamic group, Boko Haram, has ruled out the withdrawal of troops deployed in Borno State, saying it is not a solution to the terrorism in the state or nation.

The NSA has also made public new measures to curb the menace of terrorism with the creation of a counter-terrorism department and a sensitization campaign which would involve the general public.

General Azazi’s Wednesday remark followed a call made by the Borno Elders Forum after a meeting in Maiduguri on Tuesday where they called for the immediate removal of federal troops from the state deployed in the wake of series of bomb attacks orchestrated by the members of the radical sect.
