Niger Delta Group Moves Against Boko Haram, Sponsors

Ugly drums of imminent civil strife in Nigeria echoed from the creeks on
Monday, following threats by the Niger Delta Indigenous Movement for
Radical Change, a seeming left wing group in Nigeria's oil and gas region, to
confront both the sponsors and members of the deadly Boko Haram Sect,
which has claimed responsibility for the spate of bombings in parts of the
country.

The group warned that it would mobilise some unrepentant militants in the
region, to take the current ''terrorist battle'' to Boko Haram and their sponsors
in the northern part of the county, in what observers fear may spark off a civil
strife in the country.

They are however in the mean time, requesting the Northern political and
religious leaders to choose between the continued existence of Nigeria as
one country and the ''extremist Islamic militant group'' Boko Haram.
