Go back to work, Mimiko urges workers

ONDO State Governor Olusegun Mimiko yesterday pleaded with striking workers in the state to go back to their duty posts.

Mimiko also called on well-meaning people of the state to prevail on the workers to reciprocate his government’s commitment to their welfare by calling off the strike, according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kolawole Olabisi.

He assured the workers that he was committed to ensuring that their welfare took the focal point of his programmes, submitting that what his government had done with the minimum wage law was unprecedented in the country, as neither the Federal nor any state government had matched what Ondo was willing to pay its workers.
