Envoys posted to Commonwealth countries (Britain and its former colonies, for examples Canada and Australia ) are called High Commissioners, those posted to non-Commonwealth countries (for examples Brazil and Japan ) are called Ambassadors.
A source in Aso Rock informed Daily Independent on Monday that the envoys are being recalled after completing their tour of duty. A list of new nominees is being drawn up, which may reflect a leaner figure, as prescribed by the Presidential Advisory Council on International Relations (PACIR), headed by Akpode Clark, at its meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja last month.
