The Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front (NDPSF) has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to lay the foundation for the transformation of the country into an industrialised nation.
The group’s General Secretary, Mr Mark Olise, said on Thursday that for the nation to achieve an industrialised status, the new administration must prioritise power generation.
“The idea of transforming Nigeria into an industrial haven within the African continent and the world at large will remain an illusion without a policy to ensure adequate power generation.
“This challenge we insist, must be considered as priority by this present government,” he said in Port Harcourt .
According to Olise , Nigeria is long overdue for uninterrupted electricity power supply to drive its economic development processes.
He said, “No foreign investor will take us seriously if we keep inviting them to a dark country.”
