Ijaw mark Boro Day, restate demand for new state

AGAIN, the Ijaw have reiterated their request for the creation of a new state, to be called “Toruebe”.

Their demand was restated by the Chairman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Western Zone, Ganagana Francis, who spoke at Kaiama, Bayelsa State, during the 42nd anniversary of the death of Major Isaac Adaka Boro. Kaiama is the hometown of the late foremost Ijaw nationalist.

Francis contended that as the fourth second largest ethnic nationality in Nigeria, the Ijaw deserve another exclusive apart from Bayelsa.
