The Navy, at the weekend, concluded a three-day military exercise, code-named ‘Operation Waegbe’, along the coastline of the Niger Delta.
Two warships, the 38-metre Mantra Offshore Patrol vessel, NNS Zaria, augurated in 2009, and the 67-year-old Cat class ship, NNS Nwamba, were used for the exercise.
The Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogbor, was in charge of the bi-annual military manoeuvre.
He said the exercise was meant to test the combat readiness of officers and men of the command, particularly in the region.
