MEND to EFCC: List people implicated in Halliburton scam

Independent
8 June 2011

Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has called on the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to make public the names of all those implicated in the Halliburton bribery scandal as it did to bank debtors in the national newspapers.

MEND stressed that virtually every government since independence has looted the national treasury and transferred such stolen funds to British banks.

It advised the British government, in the spirit of transparency, to bring all these individuals, including ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, and wife of President Jonathan to book.

It said that EFCC appears to have forgotten that Mrs. Patience Jonathan was in the process of being charged with attempts to launder allegedly stolen money to the UK, the same offence former governor James Ibori is charged with.
