Port Harcourt International Oil and Gas Conference to focus on sustainability of oil, gas sector

The second edition of Port Harcourt International Oil and Gas Conference scheduled for May 17 and 18, will focus on how to sustain the industry, according to the organisers, the Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

The secretary to the committee, Mr. Tonie Egobueze, said the conference theme- The Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria: Strategies for Sustainable Development- was vital as the oil and gas industry was the mainstay of the Nigerian economy.

“The industry has also become a catalyst for realising the country’s aspirations and dreams of greatness. Therefore, it is imperative that the industry continues to develop in a sustainable way,” he said.
