Port Harcourt (WorldStage Newsonline)-- About two years into the amnesty offer to Niger Delta’s repentant militants by the Federal Government, the leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and thousands of his “genuine” fighters, on Tuesday embraced amnesty.

Dokubo-Asari, a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), who hails from Buguma, in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, stated these on Tuesday at the old Port Harcourt Township, popularly called “Town,” midway into a rally in memory of the late Ijaw freedom fighter, Major Isaac Adaka Boro.
