THE President of Trade Union Congress, Peter Esele and other observers escaped lynching by mobs suspected to be members of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) at  Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The incident happened shortly after Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi  and his wife had cast their votes in Ward 8, Unit 14, Ubima and left for Port Harcourt.

Esele who is among the independent observers that monitored the election in the State was visiting various polling units in the area when he was approached by a woman in shredded clothes and fours who alleged they had been deprived from voting in Ward 8, unit 16 which is APGA governorship candidate, Celestine Omehia’s unit.

The TUC President reported the matter to a police inspector who eventually escorted the complaints to the unit to ascertain why they were deprived from voting.
