THE European Union (EU) yesterday announced the deployment of additional 60 short-term observers (STOs) to monitor the different elections scheduled for April.
About 140 observers and analysts from 27 member-states of the European Union (EU) are observing the Aprils polls, starting from tomorrow.
Following an invitation from the Federal Government, the European Union established a mission to observe the presidential, legislative, state and governorship elections in Nigeria .
The mission is led by Chief Observer Alojz Peterle, a member of the European Parliament.
Press Officer of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Nigeria , Mr. Eberhard Laue said in Abuja that the European Union Election Observation Mission would issue a preliminary statement shortly after the elections. A final report with technical recommendations for future elections is to be published later.
