Jonathan launches new Campaign Website
•Gets 500,000 followers on Facebook

To boost his chances in next month’s election, President Goodluck Jonathan has launched a new Campaign Website.

Also, the President has got about 500,000 followers on Facebook than the UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, the French President, Nicola Sarkozy and two other World leaders.

Some Nigerians who subscribe to the new site may have a face-to-face interaction with the President before the poll.

According to a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity of Goodluck, Sambo 2011 Campaign, Mr. Abba Dabo, the “updated technology empowers more ordinary Nigerians to have their voice heard and participate in Nigeria ’s democracy.

 The statement said: “The President has launched an updated campaign website at goodluck.org.ng that calls on all Nigerians to sign up and join the cause of transforming our country and building one Nigeria.

“The website gives power to ordinary Nigerians, enabling them to create and sign-up for events, spread the word to family and friends, and provide input and ideas on issues like building lasting peace in the  Niger Delta, reforming and expanding Nigeria’s power sector, investing in Nigerian education and agriculture, and creating sustainable new industries, jobs and national security.

 “The website is integrated with the President’s existing presence on social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

“The President currently has nearly 500,000 followers on Facebook – more than UK Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and South African President Jacob Zuma.
