I'm Ready for Presidential Debate Today - Jonathan

Abuja — President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to participate in the Presidential Debate organised by the Nigerian Elections Debate Group (NEDG) today.

Jonathan's major opponents have boycotted the debate but a statement by Aso Rock last night said the President was hoping the other candidates would rescind their decision. The statement signed by Presidential spokesman, Ima Niboro, said "in keeping with his declared commitment, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will honour the invitation extended to him by the Nigerian Elections Debate Group to participate in the Presidential Debate scheduled for tomorrow (today).
"President Jonathan looks forward to availing himself of the fresh opportunity of the debate to further present his strong case for re-election to the widest possible audience of Nigerians on radio and television.
