Alaibe dismisses claims of birth certificate forgery

Former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Timi Alaibe, yesterday, dismissed claims by some opponents in the state on his ineligibility for the governorship race, over alleged forgery of names submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The Labour Party governorship candidate described as laughable, the claims, saying it was a show of ignorance to Ijaw names and culture.

Two persons, Mr. Micheal Magbisa and Mr. Tonkumo, had last week approached a Federal High Court,  Yenagoa, praying  the court declaration that Alaibe was not qualified to contest the election into the office of governor in the state over on alleged false information and submission of false document to INEC.

Alaibe was alleged to have submitted to INEC, a birth certificate bearing Indu Alaibe, while his other document bears Indutimi Alaibe.
