•Voting to start 12.30p.m. nationwide -INEC •INEC summons parties for emergency meeting
THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the much-awaited list of candidates of the various political parties jostling for positions in next month’s general election, with 372 candidates locking horns for the presidential and governorship elective positions.
From the names released on the commission’s website late on Saturday, 352 candidates will slug it out for governorship seats across the states of the federation in the April 16 election.
A list of the presidential candidates published on the website shows that 20 candidates will do battle for the job of the nation’s president in the April 9 presidential contest, out of 63 registered political parties on INEC’s official website.
