Nigeria: Four National Refineries Begin Production

Lagos — The four refineries in Nigeria have been re-opened for production, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said at the weekend.

The corporation also stated that it had injected 37 million litres of the Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) to check the growing scarcity of the commodity in the Nigerian market.

Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Dr. Levi Ajuonuma, stated this at a get together with journalists in Lagos.

He disclosed that the country would still depend on importation to complement the production from the refineries, which he said, could not be sufficient for the daily national need.
