Port Harcourt — President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Dr Atuboyedia Obianime, Monday night escaped an assassination attempt in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
LEADERSHIP gathered that Obianime was reportedly ambushed by armed men suspected to be kidnappers at Choba Round-about, near the University of Port Harcourt
It was further gathered that the gunmen, on realizing that they could not achieve their aim, raced towards the car of the University lecturer, grabbed him and shot him on the thigh when they failed to drag him out of the car.
