Four Feared Dead In Political Violence

BENUE State has witnessed three days of intra and inter political violence in four major towns, as political thugs attacked contestants, pulled down party flags, tore posters and harassed members suspected of belonging to other political parties, leaving several youths injured.

Since Thursday, violence has rocked Gboko, Buruku, Adikpo and Katsina Ala towns were armed political thugs have wreaked havoc on opponents, while security agents remained helpless.

Member of the House Representatives and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Benue North West, Mr. Terngu Tsegba, was on Thursday night assaulted at the home of the Benue North West PDP chairman, Prince Yandev Amaa-Bai, by armed persons after the governorship campaign rally in the area.

Youths, suspected to be supporters of Tsegba on Friday during the governorship campaign flag off of Governor Gabriel Suswam, staged reprisal attacks, which led to some party supporters in the area sustaining injuries.
