MOST of the polling units yesterday were almost empty as the voter registration exercise came to an end. On Friday the State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, visited most of the centres in Calabar, after which he declared that Cross Rivers would certainly exceed the state government’s projected target of 1.2 million eligible voters.
The Guardian gathered that the low turnout on the last day was an indication that large number of people had already been registered.
