Boko Haram: Security beefed up in Maiduguri

SECURITY was, on Sunday, beefed up in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Sunday.

As a result, only few people attended the church service, while other busi-nesses were grounded.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that this was done to checkmate the activities of the Boko Haram sect, which had unleashed terror in the town in the last four week.

Stern-looking soldiers and policemen mounted road blocks at strategic areas for a stop and search, while vehicles waited in queues and people were asked to come down for searching.

Other pedestrians had to trek long distances to get to their destinations.
