Bauchi: 20 killed, 20 suspects arrested, 4,000 displaced

THE Bauchi State Police Command has disclosed that as of Sunday, 20 people have been confirmed killed in last Thursday’s crisis while 20 people have so far been arrested with dangerous weapons including guns believed to have been used during the crisis. Also, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Bauchi State Chapter has declared that it has recorded a total of 4,000 displaced persons as a result of the crisis.

The state Police Commissioner, Mohammed Abdulkadir indabawa, in a telephone interview, disclosed that searches had led to the discovery of more dead bodies, as according to him, some of the bodies could not be recognised because they were completely burnt, adding that it was when people started looking for their relations that the bodies were discovered after serious searches.
