200 Ex-Militants Arrive Ghana for Training

Accra Ghana — Two hundred Niger Delta ex-militants granted amnesty by the federal government have commenced vocational training programmes at the National Vocational Training Institute in Ghana.

Sometime in September last year, a total of 197 youth passed out from the same institution under the first phase of the Amnesty Training Programme; after gaining skills in welding, fabrication and electrical installations.

The influx of the first group of militants had caused ripples in government circles, because they feared that it could have adverse effect on the Ghanaian national security.
