PPA Suspends Orji Kalu & 12 Others Over Anti-party Activities

UMUAHIA—A major crisis is brewing in Abia State chapter of Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, as the State Working Committee, SWC, Tuesday suspended the party’s founder and Board of Trustee Chairman, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, and 12 others for alleged anti-party activities.

Also suspended are party leader, Mrs. Eunice Uzor Kalu, former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Nnanna Uzor Kalu, former Chief of Staff to Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, Mr. Mascot Uzor Kalu, Mr. Chris Aja and the party’s state auditor, S.N. Akpagu.

Others affected by the suspension announced by state party chairman, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, include the party’s state publicity secretary, Chief Oliver Obiezu, financial secretary, Mr. S. A. Idika, and chairmen in Aba South, Aba North, Bende, Obingwa and Ummunneochi local government areas.

The state party chairman said no external influence was responsible for action of the party in effecting the suspension, even as he directed the suspended party officials to return all party documents in their possession within 24 hours.
