Natives of Kur Clan, comprising no fewer than 64 communities in Bayelsa State, have cried out that their people are dying due to the adverse effects of last December oil spillage from Bonga field belonging to Shell.

They also decried the insensitivity of Shell towards their plight, saying the spill which had not been cleaned up since then had wrecked havoc on their aquatic lives and farmlands.

At a forum on Friday, representatives of the communities converged on Lagos to narrate their experiences to their kinsmen.

The communities that were represented at the forum included Orobiri, Ogbehintu, Agge, Amazor and Okia.

They said all entreaties to Shell to clean up their communities had fallen on deaf ears as the company had not shown serious commitment to solving the problem.
