demanded that all revenue from oil blocks outside the 200 kilometres of the country’s continental shelf be shared as a commonwealth. Abuja
Niger State Governor, who doubles as chairman of the 19 Northern Governors Forum, Dr Babangida Aliyu, faulted a situation where only a few states currently share the proceeds from oil.
Speaking in an interview with Sunday Sun, Briggs said the northern states were already getting more from the federal allocation as they had more local government areas than other parts of the country put together.
