Senate President David Mark yesterday declared that the nationwide strike over the withdrawal of petrol subsidy would soon be over.
Mark spoke after a meeting with the leadership of labour led by Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Abdulwaheed Omar and Trade Union Congress President Peter Esele.
The meeting was held at the residence of the Senate President in the Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja .
Mark told reporters that the Senate’s role was to bring the Executive and labour to the negotiating table to reach a common ground.
He confirmed their meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan earlier in the morning and noted that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
