Soldiers harass El-Rufai

A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai, was brutalised by soldiers in Abuja, on Monday, his friend and former cabinet colleague, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said.

Fani-Kayode said on his Facebook page that El-Rufai was attacked by soldiers in the Wuse District of Abuja at the point where Abuja protesters usually converged for their rallies.

The Media Adviser to el-Rufai, Mr. Muyiwa Adekeye, confirmed the story.

He said a military officer with the rank of a colonel, was seen molesting a former member of the House of Representative, Mr. Dino Melaye.

He said the former minister then stopped and took the photograph of the incident with his mobile telephone, an action he said enraged the military officer.
