President Goodluck Jonathan Orders Petroleum Minister to probe Oil Subsidy Scam

NEWSFLASH! Information just available to Elombah News Indicates President Jonathan has directed the minister of petroleum to investigate the importation of fuel, payment of subsidy and determine all payments wrongly paid for necessary action. Consequently The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke is said to have written an urgent letter to the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Lamorde, inviting him to begin forensic investigations into the subsidy payments.

President Jonathan aims to avert a looming crisis over the withdrawal of oil subsidy in the country. A presidential broadcast is slated for 9 pm Nigeria time
The Federal Government panel was locked in talks with trade unions over a spike in petrol prices was weighing its options Sunday to avert the continuation of a strike that has shut down Africa’s top oil exporter.
A team of top cabinet ministers and powerful state governors was meeting Senate president David Mark who has been mediating between the two sides in the dispute.
