Orubebe’s home bombed, looted

The country home of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, in Ogbubagbene Community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, was on Tuesday morning bombed by suspected armed robbers.

It was gathered that the riverside community was stormed by armed gunmen in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Residents of the town said they heard a loud explosion and felt the tremor from the explosion at about 12:45am.

Sources in the town nevertheless said only a tiny portion of the mansion was destroyed by the explosion, which was obviously carried out using Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
