Niger Delta Group Seeks Dissolution Of Nigeria

Leadership
9 February 2012

The leaders of Niger Delta Nations, under the auspices of Niger Delta Nations’ Leaders, have advised the leadership of the country to re-negotiate a new basis for the continued existence of Nigeria as a nation, by negotiating a peaceful dissolution of the Nigerian State as was the case with the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), Ethiopia and Czechoslovakia.

The group fingered an unnamed group of retired senior military and security officers as working quietly with some serving officers, some powerful and opportunistic businessmen who benefit from existing incentives for corruption and profiteering in the economy. It  said some businessmen who benefited from the fuel subsidy and those whose businesses were being threatened by the current government policy, to destabilise and disintegrate the country in the coming days and weeks.
