Travel Advisory: How Jonathan’s aide stirred Europe

SPECIAL Adviser to the President on Niger-Delta and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, did something extraordinary of a Nigerian public official, freshly, in Europe.

Since Britain muscularly influenced other European countries to issue a travel advisory on Niger-Delta and other parts of the country, which it considered unsafe for its citizens, Nigeria is not known to have challenged the advisory, which bears a stigma of ostracism from the comity of nations.

But from October 10 -13, in Paris, France and Brussel, Belgium, Kuku practically dared Europe, when he analyzed and tore to shreds the reasons canvassed by Britain and others for issuing a no-visit-to-Niger-Delta advice to its citizens. He was more particular about Niger-Delta, even though the warning extends to other parts of the country, almost certainly because of his office.
