FG Bows to Pressure to Cut Cost of Governance

Leadership (Abuja)
10 November 2011

The government yesterday bowed to pressure from critics of the gigantic cost of running the affairs of the country. It has set up a team to work on a template that would ensure reduction of funds spent on governance.

The development, LEADERSHIP learnt, might affect the federal government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).

It also rated the country's security system as one of the best in the African continent, despite growing spate of killings in parts of the country by a group suspected to be Boko Haram.
