Ending A Ceaseless War

Tribune
26 November 2011

Before Monday, the federal authorities had on a number of occasions claimed to know the sponsors of the Boko Haram group, which had unleashed terror on the country.

They had not only passed a vote of confidence in the security agencies, but also vowed to name supposed sponsors of the terror gang at the appropriate time. However, those promises did not impress the critics of government because of the seeming frightening dimension the activities of the group had assumed over time. According to them, the official pronouncements begged the issue as they only portrayed the government as having the ability to bark and not bite in the face of continuous anguish, frustration, tears and sorrow the group continued to inflict on the country.
