Three vessels arrested in Rivers

Forty-three suspects, have been arrested on Bonny Island in Rivers State.

Three vessels with 3.5 million litres of crude oil were impounded.

Also, six illegal refineries were destroyed in the state.

The Commander of the Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB), Bonny, Navy Capt Tanko Yakubu Pani, said the illegal bunkerers had caused the Federal Government huge losses in revenue.

He said: On August 24, the FOB conducted maritime interdiction patrol, which led to the destruction of the illegal oil refineries at Karibama.
