The minister of the Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe has directed the issuance of a two weeks termination notice to all contractors handling Skill Acquisition Projects in the region following their failure to complete the projects, one year after the award of the contracts.

Orubebe has also directed that a report be sent to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] for the immediate arrest and questioning of the consultants in charge of the Edo State contracts.

This resolution is following a meeting with the contractors who complained of unrelenting demands by the consultants for millions of naira before complete drawings of the projects is released to them, a situation they complained has among other things, delayed  the execution of their projects.

Elder Orubebe said two task force groups would be set up and deployed to sites in Edo and Delta States with immediate effect to supervise all the contracts within the next two weeks to determine which of the contractors should continue with their projects or be disengaged.
