The President of the NLC, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar, said in an e-mail on Wednesday that the minister’s utterance was a deliberate move by the government to mislead Nigerians on the issue of the subsidy.
At a press conference in
, venue of on-going Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting, Alison-Madueke had said that the Federal Government had not decided on the removal of oil subsidy. She also reportedly said that government had not picked a date for its removal. Australia
Omar said the minister’s claims were meant to mislead the international community and to dissuade the citizenry from mobilising against the planned removal of the subsidy.
