Katsina — A Katsina State renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan, has called on the Federal Government to investigate the one week ultimatum given to Muslims residing in Niger Delta to vacate the region.

Addressing to newsmen yesterday in Katsina, Sheikh Hassan said the government and the security agencies should not be silent on the issue.

"Now about five days after the issuance of the ultimatum, we have not heard anything either from the Federal Government or security agents. We want them to act quickly because it is a matter that borders on religion and it concerns lives of thousands of people," he said.

According to him, unless the government and the security agents take serious action, northerners will presume that they have hidden agenda on the issue.
