FG alerts to fake forms on amnesty programme

The Federal Government has raised the alarm over activities of some people claiming to be implementing another amnesty programme in the Niger Delta, after the expiration of time for disarmament.

The Special Adviser to President on Niger Delta Affairs and chairman of Amnesty Programme, Mr Kingsley Kuku, said this on Saturday, adding that there was the circulation of fake amnesty forms to unsuspecting Niger Delta youths.

Speaking at a reception organised for him in his Arogbo community in Ondo State, he said the forms, which were being sold to some unsuspecting new repentant militants, were in circulation throughout the Niger Delta states.

He said it was disturbing that some people in the Niger Delta area could attempt to dupe unsuspecting youth from the area over the commencement of a new amnesty programme.
